poppiesmum why do we wear poppies on remembrance day ?does one grow where each soldier lay ?does each one mean a life was lost ?is fighting a war worth such a cost ?why do we wear poppies on remembrance day ?my son i will explain it to you in this way soldiers are brave , thay fight for a cause ,thay hope it will end the meaningless wars ;the poppy it grows strong and tall ,in battlefields where there seemed no hope at all the men that see it day after day ,growing even stronger where there mate lay ,if a flower can grow in field of war ,thay figure mankind worth fighting for !why do we wear poppies on remembrance day ? if poppies could talk here is what thay would say ,"our stems are like soldiers standing straight and tall ,our petals fall for each life taken by war ,please neve forget them , wear us with pride ,honour our heroes , united side by side "we must always remember , we must never forget :thay fight for our freedom , an unpayable dept so my son , i hope i have helped explain in some way that is why we wear poppies on remembrance day :cold winters day as i stood alone one winters day ,a carpet of poppies before me lay ;a flower thats a symbol of a national pride ,each seed representing a tear thas been cried .i thought of soldiers going off to war ,i wondered how they'd cope with what thay saw ;i hoped thay would never be left alone ,and hoped thay'd return safely home .then i thought of my grandad-he'd fought in a war ,yet he never did speak of the horror's he saw ;he spoke so fondly of his brothers in arms 'he spoke of great trust , of having no qualms .he never spoke of the battles he fought ,duty and honour were the lessons he taught ,then i thought of the tears in his eyes-each remembrance day ..thay told what he'd seen , what he couldnt say .each year with his medals , he wore his poppy with pride 'quitely remembering those that had died ;i hope all the soldiers are as lucky as he 'returning i know thay will see ,how friendships made in places of war ;can teach the world to fight no more .i feel the pain , i feel the pride my grandad held in him until he died ;i honour the poppies which before me lay , as i stood alone on a winters day -------!!!------- put this on ur -------!!!------- page if you---!!!!!!!!!!!!!!--- know someone in the-------!!!------- armed forces or to-------!!!------- show your support-------!!!------- and respect to all-------!!!------- our troops
